and she feels happy for the first time in a while. ]
Hot dog? Please don't tell me they eat dogs here.

[ he moves to open his door, keeping it as close to being closed as possible as he looks around her to watch the dogs carefully. they may be on their best behaviour, but whenever they hear the click of the door and can smell the scents of the corridor, they grow excited. as much as he wants to walk them along the boardwalk, they need to catch up on their dog dreams. ]
You'll see. It's bread and meat — or a sausage? [ he shakes his head, and shrugs. he doesn't know. he doesn't care — it's food he likes. ] Trust me, it tastes great.
no subject
With cheese? [ cheese is her biggest obsession.]
no subject
[ he doubts anyone's keen to steal his dogs. and he doesn't believe his dogs would be all that fussed to move, either. considering how they're heavy-weighted logs lying on his floor right now, he thinks them to be safely tucked inside of his unlocked apartment. ]
[ he shrugs, purposefully playful, and begins to walk down the corridor toward the set of elevators. ]
As much cheese as you want, O. I think the city has enough to spare.
no subject
she follows him towards the elevator.]
What? I really like cheese. I'm pretty sure that the stuff we had back home wasn't really cheese.
no subject
[ he can't be too sure, but bellamy knows half of the food stored on the ark hadn't been fresh. it doesn't taste as good as the stuff offered in this city, and so he finds it so easy to write it off as complete shit. ]
And there's no problem with liking cheese. Just … [ he tries not to smile, but he isn't put out that he fails in doing so. teasing octavia is a hell of a lot more fun than worrying obsessively over her whereabouts. he looks to her, smile impossible to hide, and raises his eyebrows as he looks at her pointedly, ] Leave some for the rest of us.
no subject
No. I won't. [ she looks at him defiantly, her lips curved just a bit at his teasing.] I'm going to eat all the cheese.
no subject
[ or as wild as bellamy blake will allow himself to look. ]
[ eyebrow arched, he smiles. ] What about me? I like cheese.
no subject
I'll share some with you. [ she goes to push the elevator button like a pro.] If you're nice.
no subject
[ he shakes his head. looking up at the screen counting down numbers above the elevator, he inhales, as though he's having a difficult time conversing with her. he could tell her all the nice things he's done for her, but that doesn't sit in the nature of this game she wants to play. instead, he keeps his attention focused on the top of the elevator, waiting for it to reach their floor. ]
You're my favourite sister. That's a pretty nice thing to say, isn't it?
no subject
I'm your only sister.
no subject
[ he doesn't consider himself saved by the ding of the elevator doors pulling itself apart to let them walk inside of it. if octavia's perfected anything, it's latching onto a subject he wants to drop and making sure he doesn't. ]
[ — not that he wants to drop this, though. it's light teasing, and he likes it. ]
[ stepping inside, he punches the G button with his finger. ]
no subject
[ she pouts at the fact he pushed the button before she could, moving to lean against the back of the elevator, gripping the bars there because she still wasn't used to that initial lurch downward. ]
You'd be my favorite brother even if we had another.
no subject
[ he arches his eyebrow, narrowing his eyes. ] I bet you say that to all your brothers. [ he glances toward the elevator screen, watching it count down the floors it passes. ] But you'd still be my favourite.
no subject
Don't tell the others.
no subject
[ the elevator reaches the ground floor, dinging and pulling the doors open. he takes a step toward the opened doors, but throws his arm out to block the censor instead of stepping through to lead the way into the foyer. ]
[ looking at her pointedly, he smiles, ] Only if you give me some of your cheese.
no subject
she moves to stride out of the elevator, eager to be free of the metal box as bellamy is, heading towards the exit as she remembered it being.]
no subject
Chocolate.
[ it's a belated answer, but it's one all the same. fill in the blanks. bellamy's always been excellent at that game with her. ]
I like chocolate. And I'm hiding mine when we get back.
no subject
I haven't tried that yet.
no subject
[ he lets the door slam behind him. remaining a step behind her, he doesn't come to walk beside her until they're on the footpath. ]
Along with ice-cream, ice-cream cake, popcorn, and eating cereal at midnight.
[ it's not necessary an impressive list, but it is for someone who has never had such luxuries. he doesn't think octavia would judge it too harshly. ]
You're going to have to pace yourself, you know? You're going to end up sick if you try everything right now.
no subject
I want to try everything before I get sent away. [ she worries about it, that somehow they'll decide she shouldn't be here and send her home. she feels like she's in such a rush to get on with all of it, to experience every thing the city has to offer.]
no subject
[ in reaction to what she says, he reaches out to gently grab her elbow to stop her from walking. ]
O. [ tilting his head, he looks at her, expression soft. ] You're not going to be sent away again.
[ again, like on the ark. each time she'd been in eudio, it'd been her own choice. bellamy could never hate her for taking advantage of her freewill, considering how life had been on that space station. ]
no subject
but fate is pretty good at separating the bellamy siblings lately.
he stops her from going further, stops her so she'll listen and he speaks earnestly. but she isn't so sure he knows what he's talking about. or maybe she'll be the exception to the rule. ]
How do you know?
no subject
[ even if the city wasn't built on a foundation of consent, there's no way in hell bellamy would let them kick her out. she has to know that, at least. despite him not fighting so much by a physical means on the ark, he'd attempted to put himself in the debt of shumway in order to have him overlook what'd been discovered on unity day. ]
You've been here before, O. [ he looks back at her, and lets his gaze drop to her arm. his voice remains low. ] And you only left because you wanted to.
no subject
how could he say something like that? ]
That can't be true. [ except that bellamy wasn't one to just make something like that up... so she ammends--] I wouldn't have left you here. Not by choice.
