[ elsa sounds so serious. ] I think they stole a cake for me. [ no, no, that's a safe assumption. ] The most certainly stole a cake for me. It was a small cake and it said "Happy Birthday, Roger."
[ snowgies can't read and they're probably either colorblind or have no concept of holidays, because the cake was also purple. ]
It was nice, but I do feel sorry for Roger, who is now cakeless.
[ he shakes his head, leaning back in the booth. ] You've got some loyal subjects, Your Majesty. Snowgies of Arendelle really love their queen, huh?
[ she's told them that they're mischievous, and he should've known to expect something like this from them. he tries to imagine them leaving the parlour to visit a cake shop, taking a cake and bringing it back to elsa as a gift for such a day. it's cute. it's really, really cute. and what's even cuter is that he can easily predict her reaction, which, he thinks, would've involved gasping and his old friend, oh! ]
[ a normal person, which is what elsa appears to be on most days when she's separated from her gaggle and isn't overwhelmed to the point of snowing on anyone.
she giggles behind a hand, belatedly responding to his own laugh. ]
It was marble cake too. A very good choice if I do say so myself. I ate some before they destroyed it.
[ it's really cute. if chion had a few friends in his apartment, he's sure more would be destroyed. he'd possibly have the cops patrolling the hallways for snowballs lingering about, but, bellamy finds that it's funny in itself. she seems to be in good spirits about it. ]
[ he watches her openly, no longer compelled to duck his head or avert his gaze. ]
Does this happen back home? Stealing from people to give to you?
Oh, yes, the ones that lingered in the castle certainly got up to their own mischief. It seems more focused now because they were – well, they were created here. They live in the townhouse, not a castle. I think that makes a difference.
[ even elsa feels a little silly about getting into the nature vs. nurture conversation when it comes to snowgies, but it's true. ]
[ bellamy looks down, hand wrapped around his bottle to sway it as though it's a hull of a ship. ] They're cool, anyway. I still can't believe you can create them.
[ he shakes his head, easily recalling their conversation where she'd admitted he had a piece of her with him now. he wonders if that had been her intention when she'd given him chion, but he doubts she'd be so bold as to imply having a part of her would comfort him with octavia having left the first time. what he thinks is that she'd given him a sliver of what she found comforting — a friend in an animated snowball. ]
I was thinking of bringing Chion around to Olaf's. I don't know the first thing about snowgies, but I don't want him to get lonely. Figure it might be good he's around creatures of his own kind every once in a while. [ he glances up at her, shrugging his shoulders. he's thought about it a lot, but hasn't so much as asked elsa, despite her initial response being he shouldn't hesitate to bring the snowball over to her. his brows furrow together in amusement. ] I think he's trying to bark.
[ the question comes without hesitation. anything for the snowgies, says elsa. they would be happy to see their brother. ] It would be nice to socialize him, certainly. I don't think you've ever been with all of them in one sitting either!
[ she leans back and laughs. boy, is bellamy in for a treat. ]
[ he smiles, brows furrowing for a moment. ] Weren't they all at the parlour that day?
[ the one where he'd gone with o. it's a day he likes to think back on, even though it often makes him sad he can't have another with his sister. eating ice-cream with her and watching her be fascinated by the snowgies had been something to remember. simple and even forgettable for anyone who wasn't him, but a day that bellamy hopes he can take back home with him. ]
It'd probably be good for him. I don't think he's meant to be away from you for so long. [ he shrugs; as for the explanation he thinks she'll ask for, he offers: ] Just a hunch.
