It's a shell! It was once a protective covering and home for a creature under the sea, who has since died. It's a bit like a tiny memorial.

And you want to study tiny memorials for sea creatures and their patterns?

I don't see any numbers or triangles in this shell.

But there is math behind a triangle, and there is always a equation behind a pattern.

It's rather difficult to explain over text message. I may simply have to tutor in geometry.

Oh, just wait until I get to Fibonacci sequences! Those have everything to do with spirals.

Who's that guy?

A highly influential mathematician from centuries ago. He left his home country to study numerical systems elsewhere and brought back his findings to improve the way we study math today.

And you admire him, don't you?

Yes, I do! It's truly remarkable, what he had accomplished.

Do you want to leave your home to discover numerical systems and improve how you study math?

[ you'd think bellamy was making fun of her, but he honestly has no idea what he's even talking about at this point. all he knows is elsa likes this fib guy, and maybe there's something in that. ]

Well, I would not want to myself, but it was his passion and I'm happy he pursued it.

[ thank god he won't have to go searching for any more books on numerical systems and numerical fractal systems and this guy and how he made it big with his study of stuff bellamy doesn't even understand. but it makes him think back on his conversation with anna. ]

Do you use the fractal math triangle whatever to build your ice castles? Or can you just look at a picture and build it out of ice?

Oh, no!

Well, part of it is instinct, that is for certain. Without concentration, it's far messier, sharper, not at all elegant. When I have a vision, combining that with my knowledge of geometry and architecture, the result is much more beautiful and sturdy.

So, next birthday, you need a book on architecture.
