Saved you from potentially being arrested. I aim to be a hero.
[ except he doesn't. he's not heracles or perseus or even hades. he's just the kid who got caught up in the politics of the ark, exposed a broken law, and has been paying for it for months. he thinks himself to be more of a monster than anything else, despite what clarke may have said. ]
[ if he was anyone's hero in this scenario, he thinks he was more murphy's. ]
[He's not, though. He's none of those assholes in his myths, except perhaps maybe he's Cerberus. Giving her the warning first, but letting her decide what she does with it.]
he showed up, we talked i don't want to talk about murphy
[ he'd know. he'd learned on the first night not to keep his eyes on his phone. it's weird, having things like this on his person, especially when they had next to nothing in their ground. but at least it's helpful in having these types of conversations. he supposes she wanted him to know, giving him next to no detail, maybe as a way of settling his own hackles that hadn't been soothed until now. ]
[ he does laugh, but he doesn't think to tell her. if it means she'll relax enough to sleep, he'd opt to tell her all the lame jokes he could think of. ]
I can try. But I doubt I can live up to your high expectations now that I feel the pressure.
[ and maybe that's why it hadn't helped at all. even though he doubts she could gain much satisfaction from wanting to rid herself of the pain of finn's betrayal, he somerimes can't help but think he really wasn't the guy for her in her moment of needing to forget. ]
[That I know is going to haunt her in her sleep tonight. Sure, they skirt around the issue so often it's hard to pretend like it's not become a habit, but sometimes she thinks that maybe there should've been more. More of a discussion, at least.
Either way, it doesn't feel like the time for it now.]
[ he laughs, forgetting that his own mood had dipped. he'd thought that to be a bet long forgotten, but he supposes he had made the mistake of underestimating her own desire to make sure he's a decent competitor the next time a fair rolls into the city. ]
Did you really go looking for someone to teach me?
I wouldn't mind learning. Bastet needs a few more friends.
[ he wouldn't turn down the offer to learn if she's gone through all this trouble to hunt someone down. she may say it was by accident, but she'd kept it at the forefront of her mind. it's not like he's going to throw the effort she's made in her face. ]
[ as if that's an easy solution to not sleeping. bellamy knows it isn't. he'd suggest she read a book, but he's certain the ones she has would only keep her awake and encourage her to keep busy. ]
[ he doesn't know why he begins to type it, but he doesn't erase his message, either. ]
What's something you haven't been able to do here? Something that you want to do but obviously haven't yet for whatever reason.
[ he doesn't know why he's surprised by it, but he is. he hadn't so much as swam back home, and he'd only gone into the water on the beach to have fun with o, but swimming hadn't been what he'd expected from her. walking, sure, but he figured she may want to opt for a spacewalk without any rules being involved. ]
[ he doesn't even expect his own response, surprised by it when he sends it. ]
[Now? she almost types, almost sends. She didn't confess to that lacking activity in her life for the sake of making him offer, though it means something that he has. She looks out the window and it's dark as it's going to get out there, but she doesn't want to swim in the sun with people watching.
