[ talking about nike is easy. bellamy likes talking about nike more than he does himself. there's much to discuss, like how she eats all his things, barks at him, doesn't listen to him, chews on his pants when he's wearing them, and falls asleep on him after she'd relentlessly pursued him to pay attention to her. if he doesn't end up with insecurity problems by the time she hits four months, he'll be surprised. ]

The tick on the shoe company?

No. I named her after the goddess of victory. Nike. She doesn't have wings, but she flies around my place. The girl who gave her to me had a dog named Diana. Figured Nike/Victoria was a good fit.

i don't know very much about mythology ( at least not earth mythology ) only what i learned in school i guess

The stories, the heroes.

[ mostly, he just liked that it was something for him and mom, then him, mom and octavia. it has a sentimental value for him, one that he doesn't want to ever forget or be rid of. ]

I grew up with them. It's kind of hard to shake it when I wanted to be Heracles all the time.

There's those drawn films with the songs, but I don't like them as much as I do the stories I've heard. Hercules looks like a square.

Heroes are fictional. They don't exist.

[ he'd thought the villains did, in jaha, in the council, in the grounders and mountain men. but after lincoln, after echo and maya and the families who had helped him and his people, he's beginning to realise no one's really the villain. it's not as black and white as the greeks sometimes painted it to be. he'd learned a lesson in those stories, one he hadn't realised until he'd been in the middle of the mountain — people weren't born bad, they did what they needed to to survive. ]

i think they do.

( her cousin is one, and kara is trying so hard to be one, too. maybe the world is cruel, maybe people only do what they need to survive, but she believes that there are alternatives. kara has the power to create those alternatives for people, as does her cousin. if she didn't use that power, if she didn't try to save people when she can, she wouldn't be much of a hero.

[ he supposes he should add "nonbeliever of the impossible" to his profile, but bellamy thinks he has to add so much to his cuddlr profile to appease the masses. if she wants to believe heroes exist, it's not his right to inform her no good guys, no pure, good people, exist in the world. he knows — he thought he was one of them. ]

( that's the thing, though -- kara doesn't think it's impossible at all. she'd hate for it to be impossible, because that would mean she's trying to do something that she can't ever do, be something she can't ever become.

so, she's going to keep believing. )
