Right. I forgot. Snow Queen.

[ he definitely wasn't taught this in earth skills. he doubts even the oldest people on the ark know about this kind of stuff. magic hadn't really been prevalent in the stories he was told as a kid, but sometimes it had a hand to play, like turning people into animals for the sake of saving an ego. ]

I kind of thought bringing snow to life was kind of impossible. It's snow. Doesn't it usually sit on the ground? What can snow things even do?

I could very well describe it to you, but I'd much rather show you myself. :)

It's easier that way.

[ And, well, there are few things Elsa likes more nowadays than showing off her powers. It's liberating, though most people wouldn't quite know it. It actually warms her heart, seeing the looks on people's faces when she creates impromptu ice rinks or sculptures. She did that. And people like it. They think it's wonderful or beautiful. ]

[ bellamy's the kind of guy who picks up on things pretty fast. he hadn't been as stupid as aurora wished for him to be to not notice what she was doing for the sake of her family. he'd been quick to learn the ways of the grounders so he could impersonate one with lincoln, and he'd memorised the corridors of mount weather to ensure he wouldn't be found. but what elsa's been telling him is pretty hard for him to imagine, let alone understand. ]

Probably is. I'm having a really hard time trying to imagine it. The pictures of snow I saw was just a blanket of it. There was just nothing. It was like the ocean or what space looked like outside the window.

[ She hesitates before asking: ]

Is that a bad thing?

No.

[ bellamy isn't the kind of person to let another's insecurities get the best of them. it's been ingrained within him to never let o beat herself up over her own life, of who she is, of who she happens to be remembered as. maybe it's the fact he's the only older sibling of all the ark population to ever exist, but it's not in him to say it's a bad thing. even though he can barely comprehend anything she tells him she's capable of, it belonging in a storybook than real life, it's far from bad at all. ]

It's just really hard for me to wrap my head around any of this being real. It's the stuff you find in books or the stories your parents tell you to get you to sleep. It's incredible.

[ That's what she is to many people here – something from the stuff of fairytales, a snowflake queen from the score of The Nutcracker. It doesn't bother Elsa. She prefers people wondering about her magic than others trying to whittle it down to a science. At the same time, she also supposes that it's their way of trying to understand, to compartmentalize the unknown into something they can swallow. ]

Perhaps you should come by my and my sister's ice cream shop – Olaf's. I can show you then.

[ and if she shows him, if it isn't some make believe thing, then bellamy isn't so sure if he'll ever come to accept it being something normal. it's hard, trying to believe that there may be people out there able to control different parts of the world. it belongs in books. it belongs in his imagination. it doesn't belong in real life. ]

I will. Even if O's not up for ice cream, I'll drop by just to see this snowgie thing.

What does Olaf mean?

[ Well, if he hasn't dismissed anything she's said so far... ]

Anna and I named a snowman we built as children. I used to fill one of the ballrooms of the castle with snow so we could play in it. Later on, Olaf became our companion. I'd somehow animated him a few years ago.

[ If only she hadn't been so careless as a child. ]

[ he'd been hoping for something really easy to understand, but bellamy's beginning to realise that nothing is easy when it comes to elsa. snowmen, snowballs, castles, animated things that are far from being actual creatures that move ... it's going to take some time to really believe that this is real. ]

[ responding, though, without wondering what? how? why? is becoming surprisingly easier. ]

And then you named your ice cream shop after your snowman friend. I bet he'd like that.

[ He also calls Marshmallow, the snow golem ten times his size, his little brother. The very mention of the two of them just makes her miss Arendelle more than she does already. Perhaps she could ask the authorities to at least summon Olaf, but she supposes she ought to wait on that request for now. ]

Olaf would be. Ice cream is largely a summer food and he is especially fond of the season.

With absolutely no clue as to how ironic that is.

[ bellamy laughs. it's a sound that he doesn't even recognise these days. ]

Wouldn't he melt?

[ it's too easy to forget the woman he's texting can probably prevent that from happening. ]

Oh, no, I've taken care of that myself.

It's possible to have a cloud of snow over his head, to make sure that he stays cold.

[ bellamy just stares at this text for its sheer eccentricity. ]

Is he here?

I'm afraid not!

[ This is cuddle city, after all, and he likes summer and warm hugs.

After this conversation, especially after scrolling through the last few pages just now, Elsa would understand if he thought she was kind of ... mad. ]

I hope he's taking care of things back home. Can you trust Olaf to keep everything in order?

[ can you trust a snowball? bellamy just goes with the flow. it may be a hell of a lot easier for him than anyone else from the ark as he's had to talk about imaginary friends and places with his sister for years. their pony rides had always been inside the four walls of their boring house, but he knows o and he always saw a jungle or forest. ]

Oh yes. I trust Olaf and Kristoff, Anna's fiancé. (He's a human, not made out of snow.) They care as much about the kingdom as we do.

[ he's really glad she chose to throw in a human fact about kristoff. he was starting to worry she was surrounded by snow from all sides. ]

Is your sister like you?

[ She'd also be happy to report that Arendelle is actually green and experiences different seasons, but he would likely be able to find that in the available literature in the city. ]

A little! She's more energetic, always positive and helpful, even if she is sometimes clumsy. She's my best friend and she's always putting the needs of others ahead of her own. She loves chocolate even more than I do. And she loves snow almost as much as I do. I don't know what I would do without her. Anna is the only family I have left.

[ that's ... a lot. but he finds that if someone was to ask him about o, he thinks he'd be like elsa — he'd type the most when it comes to speaking of his sister. she's the person he cares the most about, after all. ]

Can she make snowgies like you can?

Your sister sounds like mine, but I'd say O's annoying. I don't know if she'd like snow. She likes the water at the beach. I don't know if she likes chocolate, either. But she's upbeat and energetic. Not afraid to try anything. Not afraid of anything at all.

[ and she's all he has left, but bellamy doesn't think to type it. ]

[ When powers come into question, Elsa can't help but wonder if Anna still feels any jealousy or want. It isn't something that she would bring up in their normal conversations, but she hopes that she would at least be honest with her about the matter. ]

No, Anna has no powers, but she's very special all the same.

Your sister sounds wonderful. I'm glad you have her here.

[ bellamy doesn't need to ask her why she may think anna is special. she doesn't need to have powers to be someone of great importance to her sister. all octavia had to do was exist to be considered special by him. no one on the ground understood it. no one could begin to comprehend why he had been so desperate to find her when she'd gone missing. he finds himself trapped in that headspace, the one where he's almost grateful that there's someone who finally gets where he stands. he may not know or remember if elsa is older or younger, but the fact she has a sister is enough. ]

She's a pain in the ass. But I guess you'd know what that's like. Siblings ...

I've never actually met anyone else who had one. No one really understood it. You have someone else to give a shit about. Someone else who can make or break you. If she didn't exist, I wouldn't be here.

I know exactly what you mean.

[ Much of her change came from within, but she owes Anna so much, even if she had pushed her too hard during those difficult moments during her ball. Elsa had turned her away so many times and Anna refused to give up on her.

No siblings? Population control, she guesses, though the thought makes her sad, as does the complications she is sure must have ensued after Octavia was born. ]

I wouldn't be who I am today without her.

[ if bellamy is grateful for anything within this moment, it's elsa's tact. or maybe she doesn't think much of it. maybe she thinks the ark had such a small population. but he doubts it. ]

Is she the younger sister?

Yes! Only by a few years. What about you?

Anna a major pain in the ass? I've always wondered if that's just O being O or if it's in some younger siblings manual to make my life a living hell.

[ maybe bellamy just wants to know if he's been doing this right, if octavia's like a normal younger sibling by making him age decades by worrying him. she hasn't had the most normal life, but he thinks she's turned out better than okay. ]
